Railway Sightings by Lindsay Brown

Andrew and Laura just had their second baby a few weeks ago, so we set out to document his new arrival for there annual Christmas card. He made it just in time! He is so that adorable he also got his own gallery here ;). For their family shoot we started at their home, then headed over to a cute little park down the street. There is a bike bridge and beautiful grove of pine trees right next to the train tracks. Their older boy loves trains, so we looked up the train schedule to make sure we were fully prepared each time a train went by! A few weeks ago I had scouted this location and found and awesome historical well tower just a block away, so we had so fun with that as well!

Chasing The Son by Lindsay Brown

This last year, as I have plunged myself into photography, I've mostly photographed my friends, their kids and their families. I'm one lucky lady when it comes to the moms' group I found. It's full of kind, caring, beautiful women who are generous, fun and love having pictures taken of their pregnant bellies, their babies & all the milestones along the way. They were my only subjects as I started this process, and they have been so good to me. Slowly but surely I have been able to grow this passion into more than just a hobby. I have learned so much with them in front of my lens; I hope to always learn.

Only in the past few months have I had the opportunity to do photo shoots with perfect strangers. It's nerve-racking, nail-biting and oh-so-exciting! I'm sure, for them, meeting me in person for the first time as I'm about to photograph their family for an afternoon has to feel strange. My hope, and my goal, is that these new people I meet will leave feeling comfortable, beautiful and understood.

And just in case you were curious, yes, I meant to put an "o" in "Son," we did a lot of running around in this shoot ;).

You are the poem I never knew how to write and this life is the story I have always wanted to tell. - Tyler Khott Gregson

Tall Tales by Lindsay Brown

Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart. - Winnie the Pooh

I could have kept posting their pictures forever. We captured quite a few gems on the afternoon out with this family. They recently had their second little boy, and such a beautiful family of four they have become. We played and walked, explored and threw a lot of leaves. It was a fun adventure and a lot of good memories for the frames.

Wanderers by Lindsay Brown

It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end. - Ernest Hemingway

Let me tell you, photo shoots with toddlers are always an adventure! And this particular one was no different :)! I admire a two-year-old's youthful thirst for adventure, and insatiable hunger for discovery. At some point it becomes easier to desire an outcome and forget about the rich experience that is the journey. Following this little pixie around the Redwoods was a fresh reminder to learn from this long walk in life, to keep my eyes open and experience the joy and lessons that come as the time passes on my way to the end.

Potrero Views by Lindsay Brown

I had the pleasure of heading up to SF last weekend to photograph this adorable family. We decided to start at the iconic 20th & Wisconsin intersection with a breathtaking view of downtown. They used to live in this neighborhood and just recently moved to a different part of the city. So it was meaningful to take some photos around this area. Hopefully we captured some treasured memories!

I love this photo of Mom & Daughter :).
